The Insurance Claim Process

Storm Damage is a very serious concern for homeowners

Ordinarily hail has to be the size of golf balls before it actually…
Splits your wood shingles

Breaks through your asphalt shingles

Cracks your tile

Dents your metal

Damages Your Belongings

However, your asphalt shingles may be ruined by having indentations caused by hail.
Even brand new shingles that barely show the indentations are considered ruined.

Hail damage can cause your shingles to fail

A shingle designed to last 30 years can fail in 5 to 10 years if legitimate hail damage is overlooked.
  • These indentations are very easy to miss.
  • It is common for insurance companies and contractors to disagree over the extent of hail damage to a roof.
  • It can take several inspections over the course of a year to correctly assess the condition of a roof that has been marginally affected by hail

Steps To Getting Started

Starting your Claim is an important process

Step 1

Call us for a free inspection. If we find damage we will professionally prepare an “Estimated Replacement Cost of Repairs”, complete with diagrams and photos. If you haven’t filed a claim, we will have you call your agent or insurance company’s claim center and get a claim number. If your adjuster has already been out and did not get your claim settled to your satisfaction, we will have you call for a “Re-Inspection”.

Step 2

If you want us to handle your project and get your claim approved, we will meet with your adjuster, and, or, fax them our/your claim documentation. Your adjuster will tell us if they are approving the claim and attempt to get his estimate as close as possible to ours. His job is to minimize the claim, our job is to maximize the claim. He will fax or mail a copy of your claim settlement detailing the specification and pricing. If the claim is satisfactory to you, we will have you approve the colors and brands for building materials and schedule your repairs.

Step 3

Your check may need to go to your mortgage company for endorsement before we can proceed with your repairs, and, your insurance company may withhold payment for a portion of your claim until your repairs are complete. You will not have to pay us with funds from your own pocket or bank account. When the work is substantially complete, we will prepare the paperwork for any funds that are being withheld, either by your mortgage company or your insurance company. We will guide you through the process that will get us paid in full.
